Costume!

Hey everyone!

So today is Halloween! What's everyone dressing up as?

The theme for today's nails is Costumes! Now I'm a bad person because I have done them on false nails again! I can explain! Has anyone checked out The Nailasaurus? She has come up with one of the best designs I have seen called 'Nimbus' which you can see here, and I've currently got them on my nails! Which I will post in a couple of days.

I used Barry M White, Barry M Gelly Prickly Pear, Miss Sporty Black, 17 Fast Finish FURY, Tesco All About Nails Poppy Red, a dotting tool and a small brush.

We've got the witch hat, the vampire, the mummy and the skeleton.

Monster!

Hey everyone!

So today is Monster! I unfortunately had to do this on a false nail as I literally had no green paint left, I had to pour it onto a paint pallette! Goodbye green you've served me well over the years...

I used a green that I have no idea what is called that I got from Spain, Barry M White, Miss Sporty Black, a dotting tool and a small brush.

The picture shows all the tutorial, so need to explain it all, I am aware it doesn't look very scary, I think the eyebrows made it to "cute".

Blood!

Hey guys!

Todays theme is Blood! Ewwww!

I was originally going to do the simple blood dripping down the nail but then I thought so many other people would probably do that and I wanted to be different so I typed Halloween Nail Art into youtube and PackAPunchPolish has by far done the best thing I've seen for amazingly disgusting nails! Click here to watch it!

I used Rimmel London STRONGER base coat, Barry M Gelly Lychee, a red polish from a beauty uk set which you can get here, and a dotting tool.

I had so much fun doing this it's unreal! PackAPunchNails did an amazing tutorial on it that made it so easy to do!

UV Body Paint REVIEW!

Hey everyone, I am so excited about this review! Basically I'm going clubbing for Halloween and I didn't want to be scary so I thought about UV Body Paint, so I bought this and it's amazing!

Where I bought the UV Paint from:
Site: eBay
Seller: partysupplies2u
Price: £5.99 (free postage) for 6 colours (10ml)
Colours: Pink, Peach, Orange, Blue, Green, Yellow

I know the photograph of me isn't so great and the lighting is weird but getting a photo with UV Light in the background is harder than you think! Basically you can create a design anywhere on your body, I chose to do it on my face and create this design! I used a cotton bud to dab the paint onto my face, I know it isn't perfect but I'll do it better on the night!

I definitely recommend getting UV Body Paint if you want something simple for Halloween or for any occasion, like New Years Eve or a party that has UV lighting. When the product came I did think they were really small but I only needed a little bit for the night and I can use them again, but for the price they are worth it and if I ever run out I can just purchase them again, they came really quick in the post!

I hope you enjoyed this review, make sure to follow us on twitter, tumblr and instagram: rrbeautyxo

Halloween Tutorial: SUGAR SKULLS (HAIR)

Hey guys it Beckiie (Rebecca)

So I was going to add this onto the bottom of the last post but then thought why not just make a new one!

We unfortunately forgot to take the pictures from the back and sides of the hair so the photos you can see are on the post below.

What you need;
  • Babyliss curling iron
  • A teasing comb which you can get from any chemist or use an afro comb
  • Superdrug's own heat protection spray (which you can get here
  • VO5 high volume hair spray (which you can get here

Step by Step;
Step 1: Split the hair into separate sections, switch on your hair curlers and we heated it up to 170°
Step 2: Lightly spray on your heat protection spray and grab a small piece of hair and curl it, hold it for about 20 seconds (depending on your hair type) and then place down the hair curlers.
Step 3: Spray the curled hair with hairspray and gently back comb the hair.
Step 4: Repeat this all the through your hair then section of the top part of your hair and back comb it all so it has a high volume and tie a hair band so your hair is on top of your head (I'm aware this doesn't make to much sense it's hard to describe!) and then lightly spray hair spray all over it again just to hold it in place.

If you've got any hair tutorials you want to see or anything at all then please ask, or pop up for a chat or follow us on twitter, tumblr, bloglovin', instagram or facebook; rrbeautyxo

Your spoilt today because i'm going to upload the next nail post later so check back soon!

Halloween Tutorial: SUGAR SKULLS

Hey everyone, here is another Halloween Tutorial for you! Hope you like it! P.S HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Products used: White, Black, Red face paint, Number 17 Lipstick in a dark purple shade, and a small sponge and small paintbrush.

Ok, so below is a close up of what Beckiie did on me, how amazing is that! Keep reading to know how to create this creepy sugar skull look!

Ok, so here are the steps to create this look:
  1. First off, cover your face in white face paint, preferably use a sponge and it will cover your face more quickly.
  2. Next, with a small paint brush, outline your eyes with a circle using the black face paint.
  3. Using the red face paint, create little circle shapes or half flowers? Around the black around your eyes.
  4. Then getting the black again put a small black line through the red around the eyes.
  5. Next for the nose, really we just copied a picture, and it's hard to explain how to do it so you can just look at the picture above.
  6. For the mouth, I used a dark pinky, purple shade of lipstick but you can use whatever you have, just make sure it's a dark colour because that will add to the creepy effect.
  7. Then with the black draw a line from one side of your face to the other connecting the lips, then create small lines through that line to make stitches on the mouth.
  8. For the last part, you want to draw a small half sun on your chin, using the red and outlining it with the black.
And there you have it, a Sugar Skull Halloween Tutorial! If you are wondering about my hair, Beckiie is going to do a post on that and how she did it, so come back and find out how!

Halloween Tutorial: RED BAT EYE!

Hey guys so here is another Halloween tutorial for you! I hope you like it!

The products I used: Red face paint, Sponge, Small paint brush, Black face paint.
How to achieve this look:
  • First of all you can apply white face paint over the face to make it white but I just concentrated on the eye.
  • Next get your red face paint and dab a sponge or small paint brush into it, create a circle all around the eye, try to make it as even as possible but don't worry if it isn't perfect because you can always change it by using white face paint around it.
  • Next I used a small thin paint brush I drew a line across the lash line and out to create a flick.
  • I then created small bat like shapes across the eye with the black face paint and using the small thin paint brush.
I hope you enjoyed this simple Halloween look, I think its great if you don't want to look too scary but still want to have something unusual.

Pumpkin!

Hey everyone!

So it's Pumpkins today!

I used Rimmel London STRONGER base coat, Barry M White, Nails Inc ATOMIC, Miss Sporty Black, make up sponge and a small brush, I didn't use a top coat because I have temporarily misplaced it...

You don't really need a tutorial on this one again, its all about the doodling, and the orange was done by a make up sponge which I have done before here.

Graveyard!

Hey everyone!

So today has just been one of those days! I expected a nice relaxing day but that didn't happen the minute I woke up! Had a really bad headache all day and that's enough to put you in a bad mood, but then I couldn't find half of the colours I wanted, so I couldn't do the design I wanted.

I used my absolute favorite and only base coat Rimmel London STRONGER, 17 Lasting Fix Royal Indigo, Miss Sporty Black, Miss Sporty Yellow, a small paint brush and my trusty dotter.

You've got your classic creepy trees, the haunted house and the gravestones, this is more of doodle type of design so I don't really think you need a tutorial on it :)

Simple Halloween MAKE-UP TUTORIAL!

Hey everyone! So it's getting close to Halloween now and I know you're all at least doing something for it, so I thought I'd come up with my own Halloween Make-up Tutorial. I have taken other ideas and techniques from youtubers who have done Halloween Make-up Tutorials so I hope you like my idea!

Products used:  Simple Soothing Facial Toner, Simple Hydrating Moisturiser, Simple Rapid Action Spot Zapper, Max Factor Colour Adapt in Natural (70), Rimmel London Concealer in Soft Honey (103), Rimmel London Stay Matte Powder in Transparent (001), Unbranded Eyeshadow Palette, Rimmel London Soft Kohl eyeliner in Jet Black, Rimmel London Lash Accelerator Mascara, Smudging tool, MUA smokey eye palette, unbranded dark purple lipstick.

How to achieve this look:
  1. First of all apply your foundation and normal face routine.
  2. If you'd like you can add white face paint onto your skin to make it paler, I didn't have white face paint at the time so I couldn't do it.
  3. Next I filled in my brows just to make my face look more structured, plus I always fill in my brows anyway, haha.
  4. Then you need to start adding the eye shadow to create dark eyes, first just apply black eye shadow over your eyes and then blend it into your crease, it doesn't matter if it's messy because you're meant to be dead!
  5. I then used a dark eyeliner and created a very thick line over my eye to line my lashes, I then used a smudging tool to smudge it all over my eye.
  6. Blend out your eyeshadow as much as you prefer and how far out you want it, remember don't worry if it looks messy.
  7. Then bring thick eyeliner down on your lower lashes and smudge that out as well, you can also bring the eye shadow down as well to make it smokier.
  8. Curl your lashes or apply falsies if you'd like. If not apply your usual mascara, I used Rimmel London Lash Accelerator Mascara, it's fantastic!
  9. I then apply my dark purple lipstick quite thickly over my lips, I created such a great look as it almost highlighted the inner part of my lips and darkened the outer part.
  10. Then for the final part of this Halloween look, I used the same black eye shadow i used for my eyes across the temples of my forehead and brought it up a bit more just to create a dark highlight.
  11. I then contoured my cheeks with the black as well and made quite a think line which creates a dead, skeleton look.
  12. I also contoured the sides of my nose as well just to make it look longer and highlight all the lines on my face.

I've loved doing this look and I hope it gave you some ideas on how to look for Halloween this year. I can't wait for Halloween, I love it!

Ghosts!

Hey!

So it's the 13th (luckily not a friday!) so it's ooooooo ghosts!

I've got to admit this is one of the ones I was most looking forward to doing! I had some googly eyes that I brought from years ago and this just seemed to scream for the occasion.

For this I used Rimmel London STRONGER base coat, Barry M White, Miss Sporty black, Miss Sporty top coat, a dotter and googly eyes that you can get from any craft store.

Step by step for the fingers;
1. Apply the base coat.
2. Paint your nails black.
3. Wait for them to dry, grab your dotting tool and dip it in the white and make two dots onto your fingers.
4. Then get a small dotting tool and dot it into the black and place anywhere on the white, the more adventurous the more whackier!
5. Apply your top coat and your done.

(Anyone else think my thumb looks weird?)

Step by step for the thumb;
1. Apply your base coat.
2. Paint your nails white and wait for them to dry completely.
3. I used a pen to outline the ghost, and then with a small detailed brush painted the black around the outside.
4. I used some nail glue to stick the googly eyes on because it will stay on longer but you can just use a clear polish to stick it on, then with the dotting tool made a small circle for the mouth.
5. Put on a top coat and have fun wiggling around your nail to make the eyes go everywhere!

On a normal occassion I would of done this on my ring finger but I have really rounded nails and the eyes would of never stuck on, I have really really long skinny fingers so I think thats the reason they're like it :(

It's a really bad quality photo I know!

Favourite MUA Products!

Hey! I've picked some of my favourite MUA products and thought I'd share them with you guys. MUA isn't my favourite brand of make-up but they definitely have some great stuff!

Ok, so the first products I'm showing you guys are these above. On the left is a nail varnish I recently got for Autumn in the colour Plum Noir, it's a deep purple colour that looks absolutely amazing on my nails! And unlike most nail polishes it didn't chip for quite a while which is great! Next are the two palettes, my friend bought me these for my birthday actually, one is called 'Smoke Screen' and the other is 'Pink Sorbet'. I would say I have used the smokey palette more than the pinks just because I love having dark smokey eyes when I got out. I would definitely recommend these palettes though because using three colours, one for the inner part of your eye, the outer part and the crease is great to get you started when creating the same coloured make-up look! Last in this is a Gold Glitter Eyeliner, I have had this for ages but have only recently started trying it out, I think it looks fantastic on, it isn't dull or doesn't move off your eyelid, it's definitely great for a party!

Ok so this is a palette I use everyday, mostly for highlighting and blush. The colours consist of (from left to right from the top to bottom) Pistaschio, Mocca, Ice, Grape, Chocolate, Cookie, Pink Sparkle, Primrose, Bronzed, Shimmer Kiss. The colours along the top are eye shadows and the colours along the bottom are blushes, bronzer and highlighter. I have already used the purply colour and the dark brown colour and they are amazing, they stay on all night and apply really nicely! The blushes are a great match for any ones cheek and it's nice they have two shades, one darker than the other. The highlighter I also use under my eyes everyday and down my noise just to brighten my face and it looks great!

I would definitely recommend all the products I have shown here, they are all super cheap so great if you need new make-up face and are on a budget! MUA products are always super cheap but are good quality.

Trick or Treat!

Hey!

So it's the 10th, which means its Trick or Treat nails!

I have had to do this on a false nail because I painted my nails with one of the new Barry M polishes and it looks so pretty I just couldnt take it off! There's a video on it on our instagram!

I used Barry M Pink Flamingo, Barry M Gelly Prickly Pear, Barry M Blueberry, Barry M Gelly Greenberry, Miss Sporty Clubbing Colours Yellow, Nails Inc Atomic, Miss Sporty Black, Barry M Matt White, Miss Sporty Clear topcoat, make up sponge and hexagonal glitter.

Step by Step:
1. Apply your basecoat.
2. Grab your make up sponge and thinly apply each colour next to each other.
3. Put the sponge onto your nail and blot it so it spreads evenly and blends better.
4. Get a thin brush and dip it into the black nail polish and write out the words you want.
5. For this next bit I used a dried up pen, because my dotter was somewhere in my box and I really didn't want to go digging around to find it, and dipped the pen into the white nail polish and placed a few dots around.
6. I then applied a thin layer of the top coat and luckily it makes black run which gives it a halloweeny effect, and placed a few of the glitters around.
7. Apply another layer of topcoat to keep the glitter in place and then show them off!

If you do end up doing any of the designs or want to chat/follow or even give us suggestions on what you want to see then please pop up to us on twitter, tumblr, bloglovin' and/or instagram; rrbeautyxo

Pattern!

Hey!

So its the 7th which means Pattern!

I did have a bit of trouble trying to come up with a pattern other than a spider web and then I thought about the amazing zigzag design that everyone is doing, but using halloween colours!

For this I used Rimmel London STRONGER base coat, 17 Lasting Fix Royal Indigo, nails inc ATOMIC, Gems, dotting tool, tape and zigzag scissors.

To create the ring finger look;
1: Paint your original colour for me it was the purple.
2: Use craft scissors which you can get from nearly any shop, and cut thin strips of the zigzag, then put the tape onto the nail.
3: Paint over the top of the tape with the orange, then once it's dry slowly peel off the tape.
4: Paint over it with your top coat or matte coat and your done.

This is the dotting tool I use, no idea where it came from though my dad got it for me. (Sorry for the awful photo)

To create the other fingers look;
1: Paint your nails with the base colour.
2: Use the dotting tool tool and place it at the bottom of the nail, and then a small one a bit further up
3: Paint on your top coat and your done.

DELIVERY: Make-Up Brush Set!

Hey guys, it's Rosie! I thought I would share with you guys the delivery I got through the post! The make-up brushes I was originally using were average and they were ok for me to use but I thought I needed a new set with lots of different brushes that I could use to help create different looks. So I ordered a set off eBay for £9.98, they are a Professional German Brand called 'Fraulein 38'. I thought they looked amazing in the picture and there was 21 pieces in the set so I thought they would be perfect for me as I'm not looking for really expensive brushes, I am just looking for practical brushes that can be used in many different ways.

As you can see I have put in a close-up of each brush, the first and section brushes are used for eyebrows. I already had the second one but another one won't hurt! The third brush is obviously used for eyeshadow and the next four brushes are used for fine use like when you want to apply liquid eyeliner or a pigment.

These brushes here are used for eyeshadow appliance and blending. I have already used some of these brushes and they are amazing, so much better than ones I was previously using. As you can see some of them are thicker, these ones are used for blending, the flat ones are used for eyeshadow and the angled brushes are great for blending through the crease of your eye.

The first brush here is a flat foundation brush, I was a bit annoyed because I really wanted to invest in a foundation brush that I can use to buff the foundation into my skin and this set does not have one, however I used the brush shown and it's amazing! It's like the one I had before but it's so soft and applied my foundation flawlessly! The next two brushes are used for applying blush on your cheeks or you could use them to apply powder but I use the big brush for that. The angled brush in the middle is great for contouring also the one on the end on the right which is fanned out for creating quite a harsh contour line. And the big brush I use for applying powder.

Here I've just shown a photograph of all of the brushes that I got, they came in a leather fold out case and each brush was slotted in with plastic around the handle and brush to make sure they don't get damaged. I'm so glad I purchased these brushes, so far I love them!

If you are looking for a lot of brushes that are great for everything and are not looking to spend a lot of money then I would definitely say to purchase these, they're great!

If you liked this post or are thinking about purchasing these brushes then look them up on eBay. Please tag rrbeautyxo on twitter/instagram/tumblr if you have any questions about the brushes or any questions in general, we'd love to hear from you!

Candy Corn!

Hey!

So it's the 4th which means its the second update for the challenge!

I'm ashamed to admit that I had to actually google what Candy Corn is! We don't actually have that over in England.

After googling what they are, I decided that I was going to do the sponge effect.

I used the Rimmel London STRONGER base coat, Barry M Matt White, Miss Sporty Orange quick dry, Miss Sporty Clubbing Colours Yellow (the only yellow I own), a make up sponge, and my own home made Matte Top Coat.

Step by Step;

1: Firstly I applied my base coat.
2: I painted one coat of the White just so the colours would pop out more.
3. I got my make sponge and put one thin line of the yellow, another thin line of the orange and then the white all close together.
4: I then dabbed the sponge onto a bit of paper to help the colours blend a bit.
5: Then I pressed the sponge down onto my nail and dabbed it a bit to make sure the whole nail is covered.
6: I did this to all of my nails, then waited until they dryed to apply my home made matte top coat.

HOW TO MAKE THE MATTE TOP COAT FOR ALL US ENGLISH PEOPLE:
There's already a few tutorials around and they all said to use cornstarch, so after going to tesco and asking three people the same question, they all said they had no idea what it is, so we spoke to someone else and they reckoned the closest thing to it would be cornflour!
So to make it, I used a foil case (like the ones you put custard tarts in) and poured about half a teaspoon of top coat into it, then put in about a quarter of a teaspoon of cornflour into the top coat, then get a old brush to mix it in, you can add more cornflour if you want to make it more thick, it will most likely look a bit murky so you just have to dabble around with it until you get it how you want. Then I brushed it onto my nail and waited for it to dry!

If you got any questions, or want to give us ideas on what to do next then please pop up to us (and follow us) we're on twitter, tumblr, instagram and bloglovin' all of them with the same name; rrbeautyxo

Gold!

Hey!

So the first word was 'Gold' and today I realised that I don't actually have a gold polish! (That's now going to be added to a long list of wanted nail polishes!) However I do have a few bronze colours.

So for this I used Rimmel London STRONGER base coat, a brown from a set by Beauty UK, No 7 Fast Finish 'Fury', Marks and Spencers Gold Shimmer and a dotting tool.
